Create Norton Ghost 12 Recovery Point

Here is the procedure to create a back-up image file (which Symantec now terms a Recovery Point) with Ghost 12.

  1. Start Ghost 12.
  2. Click Tasks icon.
  3. Click Run or Manage Backups.
  4. Click Define New
  5. Dot in Backup my computer » Next
  6. Select the drive to backup » Next
  7. Dot in Recovery point set (recommended) » Next
  8. Choose location and filename » Next
  9. Choose desired compression.
  10. Tick Verify recovery point after creation.
  11. Choose your Limit. Ignore Advanced unless you want to split the image » Next
  12. Ignore the Command Files window » Next
  13. Don’t tick Schedule and don’t tick any days (that’s for incrementals).
  14. Click the drop down arrow and choose Weekly.
  15. Click Custom, select your Day & Time, OK » Next
  16. Finish.
